William Riley Homer, a Chemist for Petro Chemical Company entered rest on January 30, 2026.
William Riley Homer was born on September 9, 1940, to Floyd Homer and Ola Mae Brown-Homer. He was educated in La Grange, Texas, where he began building the strong work ethic and values that guided him throughout his life.
Riley devoted more than 35 years of service to the petrochemical industry, where he was recognized for his dedication and reliability. He also had a lifelong passion for working with scrap metal. Riley had a genuine love for cooking barbecue, with roots starting at Sammy's Barbecue. For many years, he enjoyed being the head cook for the reunion in La Grange, Texas. He also loved baseball and listening to the Blues.
In 1960, Riley married the love of his life, Robbie Luease Homer. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, perseverance, and family. Riley was committed to supporting his family. In 1961, he became a member of Baker Chapel AME Church. Riley faithfully served as a trustee and was a former president of the Baker Knights male chorus.
Riley was a devoted father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his son, his Father and mother, Floyd and Ola Mae Homer. Son Alfred Earl Homer. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmie Homer, Jeraline Homer, Maxine Thomas-Homer, Edward Earl Homer, R.L. Homer, Cardale Homer, and Linda Homer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Robbie Luease Homer. His children are Rodney Eugene Homer, Jacqueline Renee Asaolu (Akin Asaolu), and Brian Keith Homer. He also leaves to cherish his memory fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Riley is also survived by his siblings: Dorothy Carlton, Flora Toliver (Leroy Toliver), Emmett Homer, Brenda Anna Henderson, and Debbie Joe (Benny Scott). He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Ruth Shepard. along with many nieces and nephews.
William Riley Homer will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the legacy of love.
