Obituary

William's Obituary

William “Billy” Floyd Horsley, 60, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away surrounded by his family on March 6, 2026.

Billy was a skilled carpenter but truly a jack of all trades. He took pride in working with his hands and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and anything that involved the water. A free-spirited man at heart, William was always ready for the next adventure and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Burgess Horsley and Lottie Mae Horsley-Chapman, and his sister, Claudia Jean Horsley.

He is survived by his loving children, daughters Samantha Eller (Michael) and Sara, and sons Brandon and Tyler. He also leaves behind his brothers, Mark Horsley (Heather) and Brian Horsley (Brandy), as well as several beloved nieces and nephews: James, Anthony (Ellie), Iva, and Brian Jr. Billy  was a proud grandfather to Maddison and Garrett, who brought him great joy.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Riverside Hospice and Shannon Weekly for the compassion, care, and comfort they provided to William during his final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday, Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the back entrance of Beaverdam Park, 9537 Fary’s Mill Road, Gloucester, Virginia. Family and friends are invited to come share stories
