William's Obituary

On Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, William “Bill” Maue passed away at the age of 77 in Manistee, MI. 

Bill was born on June 25th, 1947, in Manistee, the fifth son of Helen (Dalke) and Emmet Maue.  He grew up in Onekama, graduating from high school there in 1965.  He then joined the Air Force, spending time in the Philippines during the Vietnam War.  After his military service, he went on to work for Consumers Power and then Shell Oil.  He was well-versed in keeping oil wells running throughout the region in his younger years.

Bill enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.  He and his wife Norma especially enjoyed hunting deer and turkeys.  They spent 30 years together until her recent passing in May.  They are now reunited.  

Bill Maue is survived by his daughter Kristin (Paul) Maue-Howes, son Billy Maue, and daughter Kimberly Maue.  His grandson Reece Tiel, and grandchildren Heyden, Hewitt, and Josie Howes.    Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Norma Maue; His parents, Helen and Emmet.  His brothers Marvin, Laverne, Ronald, and Russell.  

A Celebration of Life will be held for Bill on Thursday, June 26th at Rosie’s Place located at 9567 Chippewa Hwy. in Bear Lake from 3-5 p.m.
