William Patrick Mulryan of Rutherford, New Jersey
1940-2025
Army veteran William Patrick Mulryan (Sr.) sadly left this world on March 1, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born in Bronx, NY, on September 28, 1940. Following an early career in finance, he worked for the U.S. Post Office as a mail carrier in Westwood, NJ, for nearly 35 years. A great lover of music, he participated in many music camps in both New York and Pennsylvania and First Night events in Bergen County, NJ, where he was well known for playing guitar and singing, especially Irish folk songs. He was also an ardent lover of animals and wildlife, keeping up with multiple bird feeders in the family backyard and owning six dogs across his lifetime.
William is survived by his wife, Consuela (Connie) Mulryan; sister Patricia of the Sisters of the Holy Union of the Sacred Hearts; son William and his wife, Rosa; daughter Maureen Perez and her husband Manuel; son Matthew and his wife Jessica; grandsons Michael Mulryan, and Ryan and Dylan Perez; nephew Richard and his wife Jennifer; nephew Robert; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delia; father Patrick; brother Thomas and his wife Norma; and sister Maureen of the Sisters of Charity.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Bergen County Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
