William's Obituary

William “Bill” Haverd Parsons, Sr. of Nitro went to his Heavenly home September 11, 2018 to have a glad reunion with the love of his life. He was born July 24, 1945 in Charleston, WV.  Bill was a contractor and business owner for many years and worked at Midwest Corporation and Avtex Fibers.He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Berniece Parsons;  His parents, the late Ralph Haverd and Lula M Parsons; Brother, Ralph Lee Parsons and several beloved grandchildren.Bill left his legacy in his 8 children. Mike Kersey of Hurricane;  Selena Nichols (Jess) of Westville, IN; Joetta Heck (David) of Cross Lanes; Lula Dustin of St. Albans; William Parsons, Jr (Ruth) of St. Albans; James Parsons (Geri) of Cross Lanes; John Parsons (Kim) of Nitro; Joey Parsons (Katie) of St. Albans.  Also left to hold on to his memories is his 26 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, his Siblings: Sharon Johnson (Charlie) and Ray Parsons (Debbie) of Nitro; Barbara Jackson (Jesse) of Charleston; and Dreama Mallet (Bill) of Decatur Alabama.  He will also be missed by his special companions: Peanut, Jack and Baby.A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 2601 Forrestal Ave, St. Albans with Pastor Stephen Neece and Pastor Mayford Witt officiating.  Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Cooke Funeral Home
