William's Obituary

William F. Redden, Jr.

Dover, NH – William F. Redden, Jr., 77 of Dover died Sunday January 13, 2019 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Bill was born November 14, 1941 in Dover to William and Verna (Palmer) Redden. He received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976, and went on to teach high school Physics for 25 years in Austin then 5 years at Dover High School.

Bill had a lifelong passion for learning and teaching. Always humble, he would never consider himself the smartest person in the room, but so often he was. He was always happy to share his depth of knowledge no matter what the topic. At a young age, he was talented in many sports, but his love of billiards took hold and he played well into his life. He was the National Intercollegiate Pocket Billiards Champion in 1964. In his later life he loved to read, travel and root on his beloved Red Sox. He will be fondly remembered for his intelligence, dry wit, scowl or smile, love of good food and love for his family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Bill, his mother, Verna and sister, Eileen Smith. He is survived by his friend and long-time companion, Judy Casey; two daughters, Kristen Gould and her husband, Bobby of Spring, Texas and Susan Redden of Austin, Texas; two grandsons, Bryce Gould and Chase Gould; his sister, Barbara Spillane of Dover; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A time of visiting will be Friday January 18, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. follow by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover.
