Not sure what to say?

I met "Bill" in the early 70's, a long distance friendship for most of that time. We fondly called him "Smyer the Flyer" and he will forever be that to me. He was kind, funny, very, very witty, and I will miss our irregular correspondence and connection. Fly High Smyer, you were a very special man.

I was Bill and his father’s dental hygienist for years after they moved here. They both quickly became favorites of mine. Bill was very attentive to his father’s needs and just exuded kindness, intelligence and positivity. I changed offices a few years back but we stayed in touch through facebook. I hate to see that he has passed, I know he will be missed.

My dearest sweet friend Will and brother in christ, when I first met you I said that you were my mentor and you told me that I was your mentor. I have love you like an older brother and even though my heart is broken I have the comfort of knowing that we will meet again one day not to far from today. I know you're resting in Abraham loving arms. No more suffering. You will be greatly missed sweetheart. My condolence, thoughts and prayers go to the families and may the Lord touch and comfort...

Bill was the sweetest man. What a huge hole his passing will leave at FBC.

No words can describe how much Bill will be missed at FBC. He was a wonderful man and most of all loved the Lord. He was a dear friend to many and a wonderful example of a Christian. We at FBC are privileged to say we knew him. He is now singing and enjoying being in Heaven walking the Streets of Gold no more health issues.

Bill was a wonderful neighbor and childhood playmate in Fairhope. May he rest in peace. So many memories of playing baseball in his backyard and riding bikes, etc.

I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know Bill for the short time at Carroll Wellness Center. He was a wonderful person with a wonderful personality and a beautiful smile. He will be so missed, but Heaven definitely gained an angel. Condolences to his friends and family. May God Bless and comfort.
