William's Obituary

Preceded in death by many loved one's including Parent's Steve and Cleo Somsak. Survived by his wife Linda Camara Somsak of 35 years. Sister's Nancy and Roger Haas and Gwen and Roger Stevens. Children Sandra and Richard Corby, Gwyn and Chris Borland, Steven and Tina Somsak and David and Sandy Somsak.Grandchildren Lizzy, whom he helped raise from a young age through the tough teenage years, Venessa, Nichole, Chareese, Samantha, Amanda, Josh and Rachael. He has 9 1/2 great grandchildren (one is due in June).Bill was born and raised in Issaquah, Washington. After graduation from highschool he worked for Chinook motor homes in Yakima, Washington and Boeing in Renton, Washington. He ended up at United Airlines in San Francisco, California where he retired after 32 years of service.Through his life he enjoyed country music and dancing. He belonged to a CB club and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed wood working. He became very involved with the school PTSA where his granddaughter attended.Through his employment, he had the ability to travel which he loved. He visited Disneyland and the Hawaiin Islands many times. He and Linda were fortunate to travel to Australia. They were able to spend an anniversary cruising the Caribbean Islands.Bill had fought cancer for nearly 3 years. He was determined to beat the odds.He kept a great attitude and kept fighting.Our family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to friends and the hospice group for helping get through a very challenging time. A very special thank you to Stephen Warren for the constant care and attention he gave to "Papa Bill" in his last couple of days.A celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future.
