I remember as a kid going to visit Grandma Stokes, Bill and Bob and how they were always dressed "to the nine's" no matter what they were about to do. As a car nut, I also recall how beautiful Bill's 1956 Chevrolet was and that it was always shiny as a new dime. He even hid the car when he and Lydia got married so that it could not be decorated and possibly damaged. Bill was a first-class gentleman in social relationships and with his business relationships. He always honored a person by name, and remembered volumes of information about a person, his family, and Kiwanis and social /business relationships. Kiwanis misses him and by thousands who have been touched just by knowing him.

Mr. Stokes was my lifelong friend. I always looked for him in church and he always greeted me with kindness and the warmest smile! I truly loved and enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Stokes!
