Not sure what to say?

Bill was always good to me. Perfect gentleman and friend.

I remember as a kid going to visit Grandma Stokes, Bill and Bob and how they were always dressed "to the nine's" no matter what they were about to do. As a car nut, I also recall how beautiful Bill's 1956 Chevrolet was and that it was always shiny as a new dime. He even hid the car when he and Lydia got married so that it could not be decorated and possibly damaged. As I got to know Uncle Bill and Lydia, I became aware of what a Southern Gentlemen he was and his compassion for others, truly...

Lydia, I am very sorry for the loss of your father. I understand this heartache well. Your Dad will surely be missed at the CYC! His obituary depicts a lovely man!

Bill was a first-class gentleman in social relationships and with his business relationships. He always honored a person by name, and remembered volumes of information about a person, his family, and Kiwanis and social /business relationships. Kiwanis misses him and by thousands who have been touched just by knowing him.

Mr Bill was a darling to be around. Always was so pleasant and just a joy. My deepest condolences for Lydia and Bill and their families.

What a truly rich and blessed life and a blessing to family for all those many years! Deepest condolences and prayers for your family.

Bill was one of the kindest people I ever met, May he rest in peace!!

Rest in peace, great uncle bill.

Mr. Stokes was my lifelong friend. I always looked for him in church and he always greeted me with kindness and the warmest smile! I truly loved and enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Stokes!
Lydia, his obituary is beautifully written. I am really saddened by his passing but thinking of the two of them back together again, makes my heart smile. I love you dearly! Mel
