Not sure what to say?

Dear Friends and Family of William,

William—known to me affectionately as Batty—was truly one of a kind. The world could never contain the sheer magnitude of his love, excitement, and passion for life. Every single day was an adventure with him, a chance to live boldly and fully.

Though I never had the chance to meet William in person, knowing him through our online community felt like having family. No matter what storms were brewing around us, William had this...

A beautiful tribute to Will. Our deepest sympathy Bill, Mary Jo & family.

A beautiful tribute. May the love and support of friends carry his family through their grief. Sending my regards.

Will was a kind and caring person that made a positive impact on everyone he met. Thinking of you all.

Beautiful tribute ❤ He was taken from this earth way too soon. Sending our deepest sympathies and love for you all. He brought so much joy to our lives and will forever remain in our hearts.

Our deepest sympathy, Peter & Laurie Simon

I had the privilege of being Willy’s kindergarten teacher! Even as I am in my 40th year of teaching I always think about and remember Willy! I’m am very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person!

I was so sorry to hear about Willie's passing. I always remember him with a smile on his face and he never forgot anyone and never failed to speak to me when we very occasionally ran into each other. He always called me Mrs. Drees. He was a gentle soul. You all have my sincere sympathy. Nancy and Ron Drees

William "Will"'s Obituary

William C. “Will” Einwalter, 42, of Farley, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, October 3, 2025, at home.

Will was born on April 20, 1983, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of William and Mary Jo (Beaves) Einwalter.  He was a 2002 graduate of Western Dubuque High School in Epworth, Iowa.  He worked in retail at Casey’s General Store in Farley, Iowa.

Will loved all he met, and shared a smile and sympathetic ear with anyone who needed it.  He has left a bat-shaped hole in everyone’s heart.

Those left to cherish Will’s memory are his parents, William and Mary Jo Einwalter of Farley; three siblings, Lisa (Billy) Kramer of Dubuque, Nicholas Einwalter of Farley, and Jessica (Jake) Merritt of Manson; nieces and nephew, Ava and Stella Kramer, Margot Rogers, and Vincent Merritt; and his many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Drs. Engleman, Marks, and Sullivan as well as Hospice of Dubuque for their excellent, compassionate care.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Eileen Beaves, Carl and Margaret Einwalter; his uncles Red Callahan and Gary Einwalter.

Will, in his last act of kindness, donated his body to the University of Iowa Medical School.  His desire was to help others in their battle with cancer.

He asked that should anyone wish to make a charitable donation, that it be to “Planet Wild,” as he truly believed in their mission, which can be found on their website, www.planetwild.com
