Willie's Obituary

Willie Argabright was born Willie Nelson in Pineville Mississippi on August 19th, 1932. She was the daughter of Bettie Huggins Nelson and Auzie Washington Nelson.

Willie is preceded in death by her sons James Allen Argabright and Michael Edward Argabright,  and sisters Cathyrine Nolen, and Jeradine Bates.

Willie is survived by her son Matt Argabright, and her grandsons; Noah Argabright, Alexander Argabright, and Isaac Argabright as well as extended family members in Texas, California, Oklahoma and Mississippi.

Willie was raised primarily by her father and was a tomboy growing up.  She worked a grocery store cash register starting at the age of 8, standing on orange crates to reach the keys and crank, while her father welded battle ships for World War II in Mobile Alabama.  The early work gave her an understanding of accounting and a knack for numbers.  She spent her career as a bookkeeper and an office manager, occasionally working other odd jobs to make ends meet.

She enjoyed quilting, reading and gardening.   Her family will treasure the many, many quilts she created over the years.  She was known as “Aunt Red” to her nieces and her grandnieces and nephews and was called “Red” by her friends.   She cherished her grandchildren.

She was beloved by her family and will be dearly missed.
