Willie's Obituary

Willie Edward Dawkins was born December 26, 1989 at Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington D.C. to Blanche Lowe and Gerald T. Dawkins.  Willie peacefully passed from this life on August 21, 2022.

He attended Northview Heights Elementary, Aliquippa Elementary & Middle School and is a 2008 Aliquippa High School graduate. He went on to further his education at North Carolina Tech, Clarion University and University of Pittsburgh where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Willie was an avid sports athlete in football & basketball from a very young age.

Willie was the owner and operator of Castro Logistics, LLC Trucking Company;

a member of Pro Am Basketball League, team Bo Gang; Central Valley and Little Quips Football Coach and a home owner.

He was a “Momma’s Boy”. With his notorious gift of gab, he was most certain to make an impression on everyone he encountered and impart fond and lasting memories. Nobody was left out or left alone when Willie was around. He enjoyed meeting and talking to various people everywhere he went. Whether you were family, friend, friend of a friend, or often even a stranger, Willie would be certain to include you in the conversation and discuss his thoughts with you about a topic.

Willie was likewise known for his love of sports, fashion, and music. He was affectionately known by family and friends as Big Will, Nico, Woo, Unc Will and Will Doc. Willie was also known for his smooth and exquisite looks, his intriguing style, and sweet words. Willie was silly, always making people laugh and bright smile. He had the most contagious laugh and was a loving gentle soul. He touched the lives of all those he met. He took time out for those he loved and many in the community to help in times of need and aid in any way he could. He was nothing short of a teddy bear.

Importantly to him, Willie was family oriented. His family meant the world to him. He always made sure his family and friends were together and at peace. He enjoyed spending time with the countless people he loved and considered even friends to be family. He was always that person who family and friends could count on especially when they needed words of encouragement or advice.

Willie is survived by his loving mother, Blanche L. Lowe; father, Gerald T. Dawkins; his children who loved him so very much, daughter, Khy’la Dawkins; son, Jaceon Dawkins, whom he would move heaven and earth for; siblings, Makeba and Richard Lowe, Anthony and Peris Smith, and Dabrielle Dawkins; special and devoted niece and nephew, India and Kijana Lowe; grandmother, Arnolar Dawkins and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Willie had two very close friends who were dear to his heart, Terry Patrick, Jr., Juantez Hollins Sr. and Maurice Johnson.

Willie’s memory will remain in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. He will be truly missed.
