Mr. Willie J. Gilchrist, Sr. of 12515 Pumphouse Road, Disputanta, Va., departed this life on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.He was a truck driver for many years, as well as a farmer. He was employed and retired from the Prince George Public School Systems. Mr. Gilchrist attended the Central Park Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses, Petersburg, Va. Mr. Gilchrist was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Gilchrist; parents, Mary and Willie Gilchrist; two sisters, Dorothy Dennis and Kate Gilchrist, and a brother, Herbert Gilchrist.Mr. Willie Gilchrist, Sr., a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Alma Gilchrist; four sons, Calvin Gilchrist, Kenneth Gilchrist (Susan), Alexander Gilchrist (Michelle) and Willie Gilchrist (Tanya); one daughter, Pamela Mapp (Timothy); fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one brother, James Gilchrist; sisters-in-law, Lorrine Jackson (Robert), Lelia Harville, Mable Thomas (Melvin), and Viola Dennis (Floyd); brothers-in-law, Martin Dennis, Roosevelt Dennis (Grace), Herbert Dennis, John Dennis, Joseph Dennis (Isabell) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Services for Mr. Willie Gilchrist, Sr. will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 575 Old Wagner Road, Petersburg, Va., Brother Eric Harrison, officiating.
