Willie Lou Hinton1943 - 2025

Willie Lou Hinton was a loving woman of faith, a dedicated servant to her community, and a cherished aunt, neighbor, and friend. She was born September 25, 1943, in Tallahassee, Florida, off Lake Bradford Road, where her life began surrounded by family and strong roots.

In 1993, Willie Lou moved to Thomasville, Georgia, where she made her home for the next 32 years. She retired from the Thomas County School System after faithfully serving as both a school bus driver and a paraprofessional. Her work reflected her caring spirit and commitment to the children she served.

Although Willie Lou had no children of her own, her heart for children extended far beyond her family and career. She was a devoted foster parent for more than 20 years, opening her home and her heart to countless children in need, offering love, stability, and guidance when it mattered most.

A woman who truly loved the Lord, Willie Lou was a faithful member of Paradise Church in Thomasville, Georgia for approximately 33 years. She joyfully served in the Paradise Church Choir, where her beautiful singing and love for praise were evident to all who heard her.

Willie Lou had a passion for cooking and was known as an exceptional cook who gladly prepared meals for everyone. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, fellowship, and love. She also enjoyed shopping and took pleasure in sharing laughter and conversation with family and friends. As a neighbor, Willie Lou was kind, dependable, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Willie Lou’s life was one of service, faith, generosity, and love. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her sister, Joann Woody; her nieces and nephews, Darelene Johnson, who was her caregiver, Stephanie Johnson, Seandi Forbes, Antoinette Melton, Earl Sampson; and her good friend Estella Sanford; along with other relatives and caring friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henderson and Celia Henderson; her husband, Willie Hinton; and her sisters Mattie Johnson & Mary Melton Brown.
