Not sure what to say?

I think this sergeant Willie McLeod was my drill sergeant D-1-5 back in 1966, if it is he was the best Drill Sergeant I ever had. I remember him saying " after I´m done with all of you this is the only training you´re going to need ". I always take about him whenever I talk about my Army training. We would run 5 miles every morning before breakfast, sometimes at 03:30 the latest at 05:30 , he made me a squad leader... this is a picture of him back in August 1966 My condolences to his...

I was a Private E-1 on a bus to Ft. Polk, La. Scared to death. Drill Sgt. Willie MCLEOD, JR. took me under his wing and made a man out of me in 8 short weeks. He has stayed with me through Infantry OCS, Airborne school, helicopter flight school, tours in Vietnam and Korea on the DMZ. He is still my mentor, my friend, and my role model. Yes, he made a big difference to many of us and we will strive to pass on his legacy. I thank God for giving me the chance to know the heart of this man.

SM McLeod was a man of distinction. He once advised me on my position as a lady when walking with a gentleman and I still remember it as I walk with my husband.

Dear Papa Doc, I know you are looking out for all of us down here so just please know that I went by the Aaron Bank Hall building this afternoon to read about you in the Special Forces Regimental Hall of Fame. I still recall the day of your induction and will ALWAYS FOREVER be SO PROUD to have worked with you during all those exercises out in the woods. I will cherish memories of our talks by the campfire and the AMAZING, RIVETING accounts of some things you experienced in Vietnam! You are...

I cried today when I learned of Papa Doc leaving us all behind. I have the GREATEST amount of the HIGHEST RESPECT for this kind, intelligent, upstanding, dignified, altruistic,Special Forces HERO. He was my "G Chief" with an Army exercise and I was the "Intel G" who helped him & te students. I learned SO VERY VERY MUCH from him and I am exremely PROUD to say that he was my G CHIEF, PAPA DOC. I write this with an extremely HEAVY HEART. I feel so LUCKY to have this big picture book on MACV-SOG...
