I will always remember the summers in Tallahassee. Especially when our grandfather told me and my cousin Lecelia to find our way back home after a walk to a corner store. Memories we will forever have!

WILLIE 's Obituary

 

Mr. Willie Watson, Jr., affectionately known as “Billy” was born on February 8, 1925 in Climax, Georgia to the late Emma Dunlap Lockett of Tallahassee, Florida.  He attended the local public schools in Bainbridge High School – Class of 1943.  Upon graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army on July 15, 1946, having received an Honorable Discharged. 

Willie was married to the late Mildred Watson Smith on May 27, 1950 in Tallahassee, Florida, where he enrolled in college after receiving the GI Bill.  

Later in his life, he was a resident of Cathedral Towers until his passing.

On December 28, 2018, Willie Watson went home to be with the Lord.  He leaves to cherish his memory his three beautiful daughters, Cecelia Watson Harris, Kathy Edwina Watson, Ann Watson Anderson (Robert); grandchildren, Leon C. Harris (Tabatha), Lecelia A. Harris, Angelia Longworth Bates (Melvin), Juliette D. Harris and Jennifer N. Denham; great grandchildren, Vanessa R. Allen, Ciara L. Armstrong, Cedric Armstong, Leonna Harris, Leontae Harris, Le’Anarra Harris, Le’Shea Harris, Leah Harris, Janiah Stump and Bejamin Young; great-great grandchildren, Ariea D. Nissen and Janson C. Mitchell; cousins, Jon Michael Fant, Michael Fant, Xavier Fant, Verdic Sue Hinton; a number of other relatives and friends.
