Willie's Obituary

Willie Lee Williams, of 4500 Queen Street in Suffolk, Virginia, peacefully transitioned from this life on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Harbour View Hospital. Born on May 8, 1943, in Nansemond County—now known as Suffolk—Willie was a lifelong resident whose presence radiated warmth, kindness, and quiet strength.

Educated in the Suffolk Public School System, he proudly graduated from East Suffolk High School, where he built the foundation for a lifetime of diligence and perseverance. Willie went on to dedicate over 33 years of loyal service as a machine mechanic at Planters Peanut Company. His coworkers remember him as dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a helping hand — a man whose character spoke louder than words.

In life, Willie was united in holy matrimony to the late Rita K. Williams, his devoted wife of 53 beautiful years. Their union was one of true partnership and enduring love — a bond that continues through the family they nurtured together.

He leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters, Margarita Williams and Stacey Eley; two devoted sons, Ricky Hall and Dontrail Hall; two caring brothers, James G. Hall and John Luther Hall, Jr.; one beloved sister, Jackie Hall; a faithful friend, Denise Reese; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.

Willie was known for his gentle humor, his joy in family gatherings, and his unwavering willingness to serve others. He found happiness in simple things — a good meal, good company, and the laughter of loved ones. His heart was as generous as his hands were skilled, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know him.

His journey on earth has ended, but his love, lessons, and legacy will live on forever — carried in the hearts of those who will never forget his smile, his faith, and his quiet grace.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
