Wilma's Obituary

Wilma was born and raised in Springfield, OH, one hundred years ago. She was married to Edmund Kishell in 1942 and spent 55 loving years together until his death in 1997. She was a remarkable women who was humble, respectful, and independent. Old-world values that are so often missing today. Unbelievably to have borne witness to both World Wars, to the landing on the moon, to the iPhone. Along with Ed, who served in WWII in the Pacific Theater, they perfectly exemplified, “The greatest generation”.   Her pastimes included golf, volunteering, and actively involved with her senior group. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Texas, Arizona, and many trips back to Springfield. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. At the age of 99, she could still recite exact train departure times from the 1930’s in each town from Dearborn to Springfield.    They passed along to their family the traits of compassion, honesty, and duty to country. Her children, grandchildren & great grandkids were the joys of her life. Above all, we will remember her smile and her devotion to family. Wilma is survived by her loving children: Edmund Jr. (Stella), and James (Nancy) Holloway.  Dearest grandmother of Jill and Scott Holloway.  Great-grandmother of Nolan and Brennan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov 7, 2018, 11:00 a.m. in OHIO at St. John Lutheran Church, 27 N. Wittenberg Ave., Springfield, Ohio.  Gathering from 10:00 a.m. Interment Ferncliff cemetery, Springfield, Ohio.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
