Wyatt's Obituary

Wyatt Thomas ?Tee? Brinkley, Sr., 82, of Durham, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Duke Regional Hospital. Mr. Brinkley was born in Durham to the late Macie Estes Brinkley and Edward Kitchen Brinkley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward L. Brinkley and a sister, Mary Simmons. Mr. Brinkley served in the United States Army during the Korean War and then went to work in sales in the pharmaceutical industry. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary S. Brinkley; two sons, Wyatt Thomas Brinkley, Jr. and Scott McFarland Brinkley and wife, Chris; two grandchildren, Jarett Brinkley and Carson Brinkley; two sisters, Lucille Crabtree and Martha Ray; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 25th, at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Tim Wheeler and Dr. C.J. Bordeaux. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Gorman Christian Academy at3311 East Geer Street Durham, NC 27704The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral Service, Inc., in Durham, N.C.
