Waterbury Mrs. Yolanda Tomkowicz Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother Mrs. Yolanda (Trumfio) Tomkowicz, 99, of Waterbury, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Cheshire House in Waterbury, with her devoted daughter by her side. She was the widow of Henry John Tomkowicz. Yolanda was born in Waterbury on February 28, 1918, daughter of the late Rocco and Virginia (Piccarelli) Trumfio. Her greatest joy was taking care of children and she was a talented seamstress. She leaves; a daughter; Cindy Tomkowicz of Waterbury, with whom she lived, a son; Michael Tomkowicz and his wife Carol of South Burlington, Vermont, a sister; Mafalda LaChance of Florida, three grandchildren; Gabriel Tomkowicz, Valerie Longe- Tomkowicz and Matthew Tomkowicz, four great grandchildren; Kaitlin Delorme, Maxton Tomkowicz, Hadley Tomkowicz and Charlie Tomkowicz and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Cheshire House for their care and compassion shown to Yolanda during her stay. They would also like to thank her caregiver Wendy Perez for caring for their mother for the past ten years. Arrangements: Funeral Friday, May 12th at 10 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/ The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to St Peter & Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hour Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
