PRINCETON — Clytis E. Cocus, 77, of Hill Top Drive, Princeton, passed away peacefully Friday, February 29, 2008, at her residence following a short illness.She was born January 20, 1931, in Floyd County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Vergie Ratliff Dunn and Samuel Ratliff. Mrs. Cocus was a life long resident of Princeton and a member of Burke Memorial Baptist Church in Princeton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude J. Cocus Sr.; a son, Alfred R. Cocus Sr.; a sister, Imogene Pettrey and brothers, George Ratliff and Samuel Ratliff.Survivors: Her daughter, Virginia Parker and husband Richy of California; sons, Claude J. Cocus Jr. and wife Cynthia, and Brian Cocus and wife Kathy of Princeton; her grandchildren, Michael Hall of Florida, Claude J. Cocus Jr. and wife Stephanie of North Carolina, Kevin A. Cocus of Princeton, Alfred R. Cocus Jr., Mary Cocus and Benjamin Cocus of Princeton; one great-grandchild, Leland Paul Dwayne Cocus of Princeton; along with two sisters, Thelma Belcher of Covel and Izetta Brookman of Michigan; and a daughter in law, Drema Diane Cocus of Princeton.The family has honored her request, her body has been cremated and there will be no services.The Cocus family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
