Ellen Rodgers Obituary
Ellen Mae Rodgers, 82, of Michigan City, Ind., born Aug. 22, 1931, in Jasper County, Ill., passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at 5:20 p.m. in Hospice Franciscan Communities.
Ellen retired as a clerk from the Indiana State Prison and was a member of Free Methodist Church and the Prayer Shawl Ladies Group. She also made hats for the poor people of India.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eva, nee Miller, Booker; two sisters, Zella Fox and Ann Ford; and three brothers, Harold, Gordon and Samuel Booker.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen (Donna) Rodgers of Michigan City, Ind., and Kevin (Tarah) Rodgers of Quinlan, Texas; three sisters, Mary Snyder of LaPorte, Ind., Marjorie Shipman of Oblong, Ill., and Mona Neideigh of LaGrange, Ky.; and seven grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Jeff, Charlie, Rachael, Alex and Patrick.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Ind., with Pastor Jack Andrews officiating. Committal Services and burial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
