Bill Dachsteiner Obituary
Bill "Doc" Dachsteiner, 62, of New Athens, Ill., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born September 12, 1954, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Doc was a Union Millwright and also operated Muddy Waters Marine in New Athens, Ill. He loved anything pertaining to his grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. and Dorothy W., nee Lybarger, Dachsteiner; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Kathryn, nee Nesbit, Dilport.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Barbara A., nee Dilport, Dachsteiner, whom he married on August 11, 1973; six sons, Billy Dachsteiner of Coulterville, Ill., Joshua (JoElle) Dachsteiner of New Athens, Ill., Brian (Amy) Dachsteiner of Okawville, Ill., and Brad Dachsteiner, Jerradd (Kelly) Dachsteiner and Chad (Chelsea) Dachsteiner, all of New Athens, Ill.; one daughter, Emily (Carl) Kempfer of New Athens, Ill.; 16 grandchildren, Meaghan Dachsteiner, Dylan Dachsteiner, Tate Dachsteiner, Cole Dachsteiner, Katie Dachsteiner, Austin Dachsteiner, Wade Dachsteiner, Madeline Dachsteiner, Bethany Dachsteiner, Gabe Dachsteiner, Noah Dachsteiner, Eli Dachsteiner, Scarlett Dachsteiner, and Liam Dachsteiner, and his very special grandchildren, Landon and Olivia "Lu" Kempfer; one sister, Pat (Fred) Harper of Swansea, Ill.; one brother, Terry (Debbie) Dachsteiner of Troy, Ill.; his dear friend, Dr. James (April) Wade of New Athens, Ill.; many extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly; and his loyal canine Great Dane companion, "Bane."
Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, Ill., for an 11 a.m. funeral service at St. John United Church of Christ, New Athens, Ill., with Pastor Robert Koch and Father Elmar Mauer, OMI, officiating. Burial will be in St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery, New Athens, Ill.

Barb and kids.. We go back many years and those years will always be cherished by me. You guys are our family too and always have been. Bill has surpassed so many obstacles with his health and that is due to the love of his family. He was such a strong man, great husband, terrific dad and awesome grandpa to some very special people. My heart aches for each and everyone of you. May God give you strength and peace through this difficult time. RIP Bill, you will truly be missed. I love you all.
