Richard Hansen Obituary

Dick Hansen, age 64, passed away at his home in Bellingham, WA on Saturday, February 4th, with his wife Cathy, son Ryan, and longtime family friend, Lana Worley, at his bedside. Loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and cherished friend, Dick will be dearly missed. We will hold him in ourhearts with memories of his unique sense of humor, passion for life, sensitivity, generosity, and loving heart. Dick had many creative talents as evidenced in his drawing, painting, jewelry making, and beautiful woodworking. His primary career was in boat-building, where he was expert at fit and finishing, retiring from his position as a production manager for Nordic Tug in 2009. Dick lived his cancer journey with great courage, strength, and humor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whatcom Hospice. In tribute to his love for the game, a golf tournament and celebration of his life are planned for August 27th. Find details and guestbook at wcremation.com.

Eight time zones separate us, yet you, Cathy and Ryan, are close to our hearts right now. We were so sad to hear about Dick and will keep him in our hearts as well. You have so many happy memories to share in the years to come. Grief follows no rules and you have our quiet support and understanding.
Much love from,

Plaid jacket, wild shirt, crazy slacks, shoes that really blew your mind, topped off with a smart remark and a wink--- that was Dick Hansen. We would all be laughing at a joke and would think that was the end and then Dick would come out with the best one-liner and start us laughing all over again. His grin would tell it all. Dick was a good man. He worked hard, loved his family, added beauty to the world with his art, and was a solid friend to to so many. Cathy and Ryan, we all hope you know that Dick will be missed and he remains in our hearts-

Much Love,
Sue, Steve, Chaya, and Cora

Cathy and Ryan, I was sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Dick and I worked for several years together at Nordic. His easy going manner was an example to all to follow in our workplace. I look forward to the golf outing in August.
Sincerely,

Dear Cathy and Family: I am so sorry to read about Dick's passing. I have known him for over 40 years, and worked with him at Uniflight many year ago, and also cabinet shop in Mount Vernon, WA. I used to see him at the grocery store alot and we always had a good time together. Again I am so sorry about his passing and I will miss not seeing him too. He was a good friend.
