Dieter Mueller

1942 - 2025

Dieter K. Mueller, 82, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Fair Oaks, California.

Born on November 12, 1942, and baptized in December 1942, in Pluderhausen, Germany, Dieter immigrated to the United States with his parents, Elsbeth and Alfred Paul in July 1952 to Yuba City. He was confirmed in the Christian faith in May 1957 and graduated from Yuba City High School in 1960. He later graduated from Sacramento State University with a bachelor's degree in engineering, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. He spent his entire career at Granite Construction Company as an estimator.

Dieter served in the National Guard and was chair of the Operating Engineers Union Apprenticeship Subcommittee having received a distinguished award for 36 years of dedication. He was a faithful blood and platelet donor, becoming a member of the 100-gallon club. He was active at Faith Lutheran Church, serving as chair of the elders and the church property and as an usher at almost every church service.

Dieter is survived by his beloved wife of almost 57 years, Judy; daughter Shelly Ejekwe (Mac) and granddaughters Katelyn and Kayla. He is also survived by sister Ingrid Sheipline (Rob).

Dieter was a kind and compassionate person, making friends with everyone he met. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A funeral will be held on September 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Fair Oaks, followed by a reception. The graveside service will be held on September 22, at 1 p.m, at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Avenue, Sutter, CA
