GREAT BARRINGTON -- Thomas John Zanin, 54, of 1309 Harbor View Drive, Colington Harbour, N.C., died Nov. 27 at home.
Born in Housatonic on Jan. 7, 1952, son of John and Jacquelyn Gibbons Zanin, he graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in 1969.
Mr. Zanin was a sales representative and merchandiser for Mutual Distributing Co. Previously, he owned and operated Boulevard Printing in Washington, D.C. From there, he moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
He enjoyed fishing and living on the Outer Banks.
Besides his wife, Jan Zanin, and his parents, of Housatonic, he leaves two sons, Brian Zanin of Lee and David Zanin of Great Barrington; two stepdaughters, Heather Estanol and Sarah Gregory; a brother, Michael Zanin of Housatonic; a grandson; three nieces; and two step-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Thomas John Zanin died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. A celebration service will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 at First Congregational Church, 4 Main St., Stockbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge at P.O. Box 1696, Manteo, NC 27954. He was a friend to many, always there to lend a helping hand, and never met a stranger. His employment gave him the opportunity to meet someone new each day. He will missed by many. Tom leaves a grandson, Nicholas Zanin; two step-grandchildren, Alexa Estanol and Jackson Gregory; and three nieces, Heather Cross of Reheboth, Robyn Aloisi of New Marlborough, and Bethany Zanin of Great Barrington. brian i am so srry to hear about your dad. i just recently lost my dad too. he died of cancer on nov 12 i know what your going through. my thoughts are with you and your brother for i know what it is like to lose a parent.
