Brent Leonesio Obituary

Brent Thomas Leonesio, 43, of Pittsfield, MA died on April 2, 2021, from a drug overdose at his home. He was born in North Adams, MA and raised in Adams, MA by his mother Roberta Lucia. Brent attended Adams schools and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in 1995. He attended Berkshire Community College, and worked several places over the years, including North Adams Hospital where he found his passion in helping others.

He is survived by his mother Roberta Lucia; sister Jessica Lucia; brother Taylor Lucia; and son who was his world, Devon Leonesio. He also leaves behind his aunt, Deborah Leonesio; his uncle and aunt, Wayne and Betty Nassif; and his two cousins Simon and Jordan Nassif. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Saleem and Geraldine Nassif, and paternal grandparents John and June Leonesio, and his best friend and brother John "Leo" Leonesio.

Growing up Brent was active in all sports including basketball, baseball, and football. He was truly passionate and talented at basketball. He loved music, sports betting, fantasy sports, Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat. Brent had a contagious smile that lit up every room he entered, and his soul and kind personality shined through whom he ever met. His loyalty ran deep, and his heart was huge. He would take in anyone who needed a place to live and welcomed them as family. He had an outgoing personality and would talk to anyone no matter who you were or where you came from. He was truly one of a kind.

Over the past decade or so, addiction hijacked his life. Though he struggled with his addiction, it never stopped him from building life-long and lasting relationships. Even though he was hurting inside, he was always available to help others and made sure his loved ones were okay. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially his son, who was the light of his life. His son was his biggest and proudest accomplishment.

Funeral Notice: Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alternative Living Center in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201
