Michael J. HARTNETT

HARTNETT, Michael J. "Mike" Age 85, of Quincy, died peacefully, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was employed as a process specialist for the Gillette Company for 19 years, retiring in 2005.

Beloved husband for 61 years of Patricia A. (Shannon) Hartnett. Devoted father of Patricia A. Mortimer and her husband James of Quincy, Michael J. Hartnett, Jr. and his wife Janice of Ridgefield, WA, Sheila M. Sitler and her husband Kevin of Mansfield, and Margaret M. Gresham and her husband Donnie of Pembroke. Loving grandfather of Cara, Kevin, Annie, Ashlyn, Kellen, Owen, Kayleigh, Alexis, and Colin. One of ten siblings, Michael was the dear brother of Theresa Fitzgerald, Nora Hanley, Rita Ryan, all of Ireland, and was predeceased by Patrick Hartnett, Helen Alexander, Kathleen Mullane, John, James, and Daniel Hartnett. Mike is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Divine Mercy Parish at Saint Mary's Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
