When Gerard F. Doherty leaves an imprint on your heart, you are forever changed. 3 years ago today - Gerry, where has the time gone? Distance did not separate us, as we were a telephone call away. You would say, "at least I am on the right side of the ground". No! You are above us, looking down, smiling, and guiding us! And, you, my friends, are sorely missed!

Many fond memories with the Lyons family in Milton. My favorite - you would ask Gerard if he would like something to drink and he would ask do you come in liquid form ? A fabulous sense of humor. So blessed to have had him in my life through my older sister Maryellen. He lived a full life and was a wonderful human being. Im sad. Joan Lyons Milch

Our world has lost a wonderful gentle man and the truest essence of a humane being we will ever know. We were all blessed to have his guidance. He made a tremendous difference in the lives of others, a legacy of love, hope, and faith. His endless dedication to serving others and his life committed to quality public service is unmatched. It was an honor and a privilege to have known and worked for, and with Gerry in the Massachusetts Legislature. Gerry helped in getting me my first job wich lasted 40 years. I send my sympathy and grievances to his family . . . May he Rest In Peace.

A wonderful man. A wonderful mentor. Gerard hired me for my first job, putting up with my lack of talent until I finally gained some over the decade stint. I was able to parlay this into a second decade of opportunity with his friend Stephen M Ross and the Related Companies in NYC. I had a successful 30 year career as a Regional Director for Investment Products due to the help of their encouragement. I am glad that I had the opportunity to tell him so over a great visit not too long ago. I am blessed to have known him.
Thinking of you Regina and all of the Doherty Brothers. I miss you all.

Dear Mrs. Doherty,
Please accept my sympathy on Gerry's death. I met him many times when I was a child and teenager when he and my grandmother worked together closely on the Kennedy campaigns and MA Democratic politics. He was a kind, compassionate man whose style and commitment was a role model for the world of politics and campaigns and who made a real difference.
Best,
Maureen Costello-Shea

Admiral's Hill remains one of the most successful - - - and least acclaimed - - - developments in New England. Gerard, with Ed Fish, was literally involved from inception to completion. He brought insight and standards to the project that made it easy for federal, state and local elected and appointed officials support the City of Chelsea. Gerard and Ed's contributions are eternal.
Sincere condolences to the family - both blood and spiritual.
