You could not ask for a better friend than Bernie Cooper. I was a classmate of his all through high school. We had the same circle of friends. Bernie would often host Friday night parties. I also remember visiting his father's hardware store which was a fixture in town. As we age we begin to lose our contemporaries, but the loss of some can resonate more than others. For me Bernie's passing strikes a nerve that's hard to accept. I spoke to him occasionally over the years and I was always struck by how devoted he was to his family. I wish them all well and hopefully they can take some solace in the knowledge that their husband, father, and grandfather was truly a wonderful person. Rest in peace Bernie.

On behalf of ALL Norwood residents, I want to thank Bernie Cooper so much for his years of service and commitment to the Town of Norwood, MA.
He was a good man, who had a good life and he left us way to soon.

Bernie is the only Cooper that Elsa and I ever had the pleasure of meeting. What a gem of a man he was. Of the many carillon recitals that I've been privileged to play at Norwood's Town Hall over the years, Bernie missed attending only one. His winning smile and sincere handshake were so very welcome after descending the tower. Bernie was a tireless advocate for that tower's beautiful instrument and in that capacity he will be difficult to replace. We offer Bernie's family our deepest condolences on this sad occasion.
