SACKMAN, Murray L. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Murray L. Sackman. On March 12th of 2021, at the age of 67, he died peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his two sons Michael and Elliot, his former wife Marianne Karmel, his stepmother Kathy Sackman, his aunt Judith Bender, his brother Kenneth Sackman and wife Julie, his sister Barbara Bartholomew and husband Dale, his brother Gerald Sackman and wife Jessica, as well as his many cousins, nieces, and nephews and lifetime friends. A graduate of Brandeis University and Harvard Law School, Murray was an attorney /businessman. Murray was active in the Newton community, leading and coaching in multiple youth sports programs, and was known for his patronage of the arts in the Boston area. Funeral services took place in Boston on March 18th. Donations in his name can be made to the Boston Dance Alliance. https://www.bostondancealliance.org/

It has been nearly 2 years since Murray's passing. He is still missed. No parent was more engaged with our sons, both supporting and interested in their athletic and academic lives. Among adults, he was always available for catching up, bringing his love of history and politics to bear on the present, and sorting through the challenges of life. A fun and challenging friend...still missed. Gary

I am so sorry to hear about Murray's passing. I got to know him when he sold his house on Fairfield Street. He often talked about how proud he was of his two boys. May his memory be a blessing.

I am very sorry to hear about Murray's passing. I really enjoyed our time coaching together for the Williamsport team many years ago. Murray was one of the most generous people I ever met and gave everything so the boys could have a great experience.
