I was deeply saddened by the news of Howie's passing. I remember when we were kids tagging along after Howie & Gary & my brother Jimmy. They all watched out for me even after I got them in trouble as a dumb little kid! I am thankful for all the good times. Sincere condolences .

I just found out and I am so sad to hear of Howie's passing. I have not seen him in years but knew him as a great man who cared so much for his family & siblings. I know he will be missed greatly. RIP Howie Jr

I send my deepest sympatheses and some memories I would like to share of Howie. I went to school with Howie and Gary. Howie sat in front of me in History. The only thing I remember from History is Howie. We were so bored, kept each other awake and just tried to pass the class. Howie was very handsome and talked to everyone and even an 'awkard' girl like I was. He was very popular like Gary, but he was the quiet one. If anyone were to ask me how I remember Howie in High School, I would say to family and friends, 'Howie was one of the top 10 kids in school who was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet!' If I bumped into him in the street, I would give him a great big hug and tell him, 'what a nice person he was in high school and was well respected!' I knew Kathy also, but I don't know if she remembers me! In fact the Winter's kids were all very popular! I am so sorry to hear about Howie and I hope his kids would like to know their father was one of the 'cool' kids! My prayers are wit

My sincere sympathy to The Winter Family. In 1966 I was a student teacher at Southern Junior High for 3 months and had Howie as a student. Mr. Arbeene was his science teacher and my co-operating teacher. Howie was an excellent student and a genuinely nice kid, as were all members of his 9th Grade class. The classes I had the opportunity and pleasure to teach were a memorable introduction for the start of my 40 year career in teaching. Rest in peace, Howie.
