WINTER, Howard E. "Howie" 62, Of Somerville, suddenly, February 10, 2012. Beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Burns). Loving father of H. Thomas and Sean F. Winter both of Somerville. Dear son of Howard T. Winter of Millbury and the late Rosemarie (O'Brien). Brother of Karen L. Ciampa and her husband Vincent of Saugus, Kathleen R. Winter of Stoneham, Karolyn M. Spinney and her husband Scott of Melrose and the late Gary J. Winter. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, one grand nephew and several other loving relatives and friends. Funeral procession form the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) SOMERVILLE, Wednesday morning at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church (Union Sq.) Somerville at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 pm. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. I grew up with Howie and Gary they where like my older brothers we where a family I will miss him and know I will see him again on the other side God Bless the Irish

I was deeply saddened by the news of Howie's passing. I remember when we were kids tagging along after Howie & Gary & my brother Jimmy. They all watched out for me even after I got them in trouble as a dumb little kid! I am thankful for all the good times. Sincere condolences .

I just found out and I am so sad to hear of Howie's passing. I have not seen him in years but knew him as a great man who cared so much for his family & siblings. I know he will be missed greatly. RIP Howie Jr

I send my deepest sympatheses and some memories I would like to share of Howie. I went to school with Howie and Gary. Howie sat in front of me in History. The only thing I remember from History is Howie. We were so bored, kept each other awake and just tried to pass the class. Howie was very handsome and talked to everyone and even an 'awkard' girl like I was. He was very popular like Gary, but he was the quiet one.
