HOGAN, Daniel William Jr., "Dan", "Bill" Of Stoneham, formerly of Medford and Wakefield, May 2, 2010. Husband for 63 years of Laura (Schmid). Son of the late Frances and Daniel W. Hogan. Father of Mary and husband Jules Godes of Stoneham, Margaret and husband Raymond Langelier of Niskayuna, NY, Daniel and wife Patricia Hogan of Reading, Joseph Hogan and wife Karen Thursby of Wilmington, and Timothy and wife Diane Hogan of Brooklyn, NY. Grandfather of William and wife Laurie Fiore of Stoneham, Julie and husband Christian Yunker of Elba, NY, Kate Langelier and husband John "Tom" Dupree of Apex, NC, Daniel Hogan of Somerville, Jacqueline Hogan of Reading, Mary Langelier of Niskayuna, NY, Nicholas Hogan of Wilmington, Kerry Hogan of Brooklyn, NY, Matthew Hogan of Wilmington, and Kaitlyn Hogan of Brooklyn, NY. Step Grandfather of Richard and wife Doreen Godes of Marblehead and Arlene and husband Greg Stoller of Needham. Great Grandfather of Ryan and Abigail Fiore of Stoneham, and Riley Yunker of Elba, NY and Step Great Grandfather of Anna and Mitchell Godes of Marblehead and Bradley, Eric and Emily Stoller of Needham. Brother of the late Harold and Paul Hogan and Brother-in-law of Patricia Hogan of Lynnfield and Eunice Hogan of Long Beach, CA. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Graduate of the University of Kansas and Boston University. Career educator in the Mansfield, Danvers and Stoneham Schools; Former Superintendent of Stoneham Public Schools; Veteran of WWII; Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Massachusetts National Guard; Member of Rotary International and many civic organizations. Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Wednesday at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Daniel's life in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 11am. Family and friends cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Monday from 6 to 8pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm in the Funeral Home. Interment Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daniel W. I was saddened to read about Mr. Hogan's death and I offer my deepest sympathy to all of his family. I remember him so well from living in West Medford and being friends with Mary and Margaret. I will not forget the Hogan family's hospitality and kindness to me. The world is a poorer place without him.
