GILBERT RYCE Obituary

RYCE, Gilbert Arthur Age 95, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 28, 2021. Arthur was born to Henry and Meta Ryce, on November 11, 1925, and was a lifelong resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was married to Nan Ryce for over 70 years and was a retired postal worker. Arthur had several passions, he was a lover of jazz who crafted master jazz mixtapes, loved to attend to his flowers and was an avid reader of western books. Arthur was known for his kindness and dry sense of humor. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cynthia Ryce; brother, Henry Ryce; and daughter, Shirley Mckinney. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nan; two children, Arthur P. Ryce, and Barbara Guthrie; three grandchildren, Ericka Dorsey, Raymond Guthrie, Jr. and Patrice Ryce; five great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Leslie Ryce. A Private Service will be held and, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent on his behalf to St. James Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 440185, Somerville, Massachusetts 02144. Visiting Hours: Private Service
