Thomas W. JOHNSON

JOHNSON, Thomas W. Age 73, of Dover, MA, passed away peacefully at home, on August 16.

He dedicated four-plus decades to the commercial real estate industry, beginning as a commercial space planner with prominent Boston architectural firms, including Shepley Bulfinch, and later serving as project manager for Hines Industrial. Then, for 35 years, he worked at Hammond Commercial (now IRB Real Estate), specializing in office leasing and commercial sales in Cambridge and Greater Boston.

A passionate outdoorsman and sportsman, he will also be remembered as a gifted designer, painter, and woodworker. He enjoyed golf at Dedham Country and Polo Club, where he earned multiple titles as champion trap shooter. During summers in Falmouth, he boated, fished, and was a member of the Quamquissett Beach Club and Quissett Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife, Amelie G. Johnson; and children, Alexander A. Johnson and Olivia Y. Johnson. He leaves behind sisters, Jorie C. Johnson of Kyoto and Frances Y. J. Wheeler of Boxford; his brother, Alex Johnson; and wife, Lori A. K. Johnson of Dover; and his nephew and niece, Alexander W. Johnson and Caroline F. A. Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 9, 11:30 AM, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 258 Concord St., Newton Lower Falls. Donations may be made to the Melanoma Research Fund at Massachusetts General Hospital or to the Quissett Harbor Preservation Trust.
