I will remember Phil for his ever-present smile, his sense of humor, and the calm he would always bring in the face of deadlines, chaos, and pressures at Houghton Mifflin. I am grateful for all of the times he was there--offering a common-sense solution --and willing to listen.

We are so sorry to hear about Philip, Husband and Dad. We know and love "Gingie and Philip" or "Philip and Gingie" and never in our thoughts separate the two. You and your families are in our thoughts and prayers.

I want to send my condolences to Philip's family. I have fond memories of him and the whole Dolan family from not so long ago when we were all young. May God bless him and gather him in his arms.

Phil was a pleasure to know. I learned a lot from him about the publishing world and just discovered he was a painter as well. His work is amazing but that is not surprising. He was a great friend and mentor.

I have such fond memories of Philip's wonderful sense of humor, his high-quality style, and his ever-present creative spirit. His many contributions to the design of educational materials are to be celebrated. Nancy and I send our condolences to Ginnie and to Philip's entire family at this very sad time.

To Philip's Family, I had the extreme pleasure of working with Philip at Houghton Mifflin. He made working at HMCo a memorable experience - he was a wonderful teacher, college, and friend. I was so sad to hear of his passing. I had hoped our paths would cross again someday... I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts are truely with you! Fondly,

Ginnie,
My memories of Houghton Mifflin are filled with Philip's talent, kindness, and humor. He taught me so much about the world of design; things I still use to this day. His was a gentle, creative spirit, who touched so many lives in such a positive way. I'm sad that I won't be able to be with you, but please know that you, Chris, Kirsten and Alex are in my thoughts.

One of my most fond memories of Philip is the day before easter when he was about three or four and he was at his grandmother's house in Milton and he was skipping around the house saying "I'm the easter bunny, mommy Dolan".....I remember his first summer in Hull and the thrill when his mother let me push his carriage.
