John was such a brilliant dedicated artist with tremendous talent and depth. I miss him and am saddened that he left with such speed. God needed some decent seascapes in heaven.❤

Dear Jennifer and Dominic,

We saw you last August 2018,Jennifer, and purchased
John' painting of the harbor, the paint factory and two ships in front. This is another glorious painting of John's showing his dedication to Gloucester. We have it our home in Albany, NY. We also have five paintings of John's in our home in Florida. (I use to say to John that our Florida home was the John Nesta Gallery,South.)

When we came to Rocky Neck in 2018, we did not know of John's passing almost a year before. We were distressed!

Each year for a decade we stayed at the Accommodations in Rocky Neck. Our first visit was with John to catch up on what he was doing in painting and just talking. It was wonderful talking to John. One year, we both found out about our love of New Mexico. He showed us some of his paintings of Taos. We bought two of them which we have in Florida.

As someone else said, John was the spirit of Rocky Neck. It will never be the same for us without John.

Jennifer and family..
I just learned of John's passing. I will always remember his bright smile when we visited your gallery and the times we shared at One Pride;s Lane celebrating the season. I treasure his works as did my husband. He will not be forgotten...nor will you. Stay well and beautiful..
Most sincerely, Patricia Lambert

What!? He can't be dead. He was so alive, so full of creativity and friendliness. Just saw him last summer during my usual stay at Rocky Neck. He was the spirit of Rocky Neck. Loved his son and wife and community. A terrible loss. I hope someone quickly organizes an exhibition of his wonderful paintings.

My family and I have been collecting Johns work for over 20 years. When my kids were little they fell in love with Johns sweeping scenes of Glouster Harbor and the quiet stillness of the harbor under ice. We ended up owning many of his larger works and a few small ones as well. John was a truly wonderful artist and person. We will miss him greatly.

So sorry to hear of John's passing I knew him and dated him back in the 60's. A sweetheart and I so regret not getting up to see him once again and see his studio. Will get there when I can walk again (from my foot surgery) and hope to finally buy a painting. RIP John. You're going to be greatly missed!!❤❤

We met John 30 years ago and bought one of his paintings.
We continued to buy a painting each year we visited Rocky neck, and they grace every room in our home.

Years ago, he stayed with us, as some folks had commissioned him to do some paintings around the Cleveland area.

I saw him the summer before last, and again, got a lovely painting, and shared a great conversation.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Love you always John...

John was one of the first people we met in Gloucester more than 30 years ago and was our introduction to Rocky Neck and many, many wonderful friendships. We first met him cruising around the harbor in his wonderful classic boat... that's how he will always be... cruising by with a wave and a heart as big as the ocean. One of our most treasured paintings is one he did of our old cabin cruiser. Rest easy, my friend, cruise on. Beth and Josh Bevins

<br />Sending our heartfelt condolences to the Nesta Family. John was an icon in the Rocky Neck and Gloucester community.
