My wife Carol and myself wish to extend our condolences to the entire Nichols family . I just recently learned of Ted's passing and
wish I had known sooner so that I could have attended his memorial.
Ted was a great guy and will be dearly missed. I enjoyed helping him over the many years with my plastering and carpentry skills on misc. projects at his rental properties, his homes in W. Roxbury and Norwood, etc. I knew him since the late 80's when I met him at the Nichols Funeral home in Hyde Park. He had a great sense of humor and loved life ,I will miss his presence. Sincerely Mike Kelliher

Mr. Nichols was a rock and something of a hero to the Ryan family in Hyde Park. I lost count of how many members of the family he buried, but when he showed up at the door after a loved one passed away, you knew he would take care of all the arrangments and would keep you gently abreast of the details. He was an honorary member of more families than even he knew.
Who can forget his voice -the gentle confidence and reassurance he extended thousands of times to those grieving?
The man was a prince and I'll never forget him.... or his hat! He used to wear a great hat -I think it was a Homburg. I was admiring it at my grandmother's wake and he was ready to give it to me right there, the hat off his head.

I just learned of Ted's passing and feel so sad that he is gone. He was a second father to me and my roommates back in the 80's when he was our dear landlord. When my grandmother passed away in 1984, my father had no trouble remembering that she always said, "make sure Teddy buries me when I go." Ted helped me when my dear father died years later in 1990. He was a truly good and kind and generous man. He helped a family friend who lost his young wife to cancer several years ago also. The Lord has a wonderful helper in Heaven now. Bless you and keep you forever Teddy!

What a kind gentleman. He buried both my parents and hired my visually impaired nephew to work in the home. He had many neighborhood kids working there and they were all the better for it.

Teddy was the greatest, The only mistake he ever made was getting mixed up with our family. But we loved him anyway.
I remember Judy telling me she was going to marry an undertaker. Well! Every family should have one. But three. Billy was driving a hearse nights and Judy was working the day shift. And Mark was shipping us off to heaven with a plenary indulgence pre-paid in the coffin. We couldn't croak fast enough to keep them all busy.
Of course the first time I met Ted was at a wake; my Uncle John's. Patton's entire Third Army showed up so we had a good turn-out. I was 14 and hiding behind a door in Marion's kitchen out of sight from my parents guzzling a drink when I spotted Ted putting a raw egg in his drink. I never heard of that before but I figured it gave him a good excuse not to drink it very fast.
I truly loved Teddy Nichols. I loved to tell stories about him to my undertaker friends here in Manchester. He was a legend in the trade.
My condolences, Jude. Your loss and your grief are shared by all the family. Teddy Nichols made us a better family.

Ted was an amazing man. I truly believe that he was angel on earth and now he has flown home to rest. He was a selfless man in so many ways. He never looked for recognition for his good deeds. If you've ever scratched your head wondering how something went your way, I can guarantee you it was because Ted had a hand in it. There's no doubt in my mind this man could be sainted. My administration and love for him will stay with me my entire life. I was truly blessed to know Ted and will never forget how kind he was to me and my family when we needed it the most. Ted Nichols.. a true legend. Thank you Ted for all the times you had my back. I love you and will miss you forever!

I remember Teddy fondly from many years ago working periodically alongside his dear brother, Charlie, at the infamous "Charlie's" Penny Candy store. He was just as kind as his iconic brother "Charlie". They are not forgotten. Condolences to the extended family; may their memories be eternal.

My family moved next door to Ted and Judy in 2015. He was the first to greet and welcome us to the neighborhood. He was always so pleasant and genuine whenever we spoke. Our 8-yr old daughter London always made sure she said hello to Ted whenever she saw him and he was always interested in how she was doing in school. She also liked how he distributed potato chips on Halloween. We will all miss him. Our deepest sympathies to Judy, Chris, Diane and John and their families.
