Just saw this. VERY sorry for your loss. Leah was a great women, friend & customer. I was her graphic designer till I moved away back in 2013. We had some great long conversations in her office & other times, over some libations.

I just learned of Leah's passing and am devastated. Paul, Leah and I met at BCSSW and had a long relationship. Leah was unique, smart and funny!! She found much to laugh at and about. She loved her family--Kate, Dennis and Russell and her beloved sister Martha. She worked hard for social justice and her work touched many. I will miss her.

I just learned of Leah's death through the BC Alumni magazine. I am devastated and know the world is a lonelier place. Leah and Paul were dear friends beginning at BCSSW. She loved life, especially her family--Kate, Dennis and Russell and her beloved sister Martha. A tireless worker for social justice, she touched so many lives through all her efforts--DSS, A Red Thread and her multiple community involvements. I will miss her.

I just saw the notice of Leah's death in the BC Alumni magazine. The friendship with Paul and Leah began at BCSSW and grew to include our families. She and Paul were dedicated to making the world a better place--both were focused on social justice issues especially to help create for her grandchildren. I will miss her.

Leah was unique and loved life. I just read of her passing and am very sad. She was smart and insightful, full of life and battled for justice throughout her life.

I just tonight found a notice of Leah's death in the BC Alumni magazine. She and Paul were such lovely giving people. Kate, Dennis, Russ and your families: I am so sorry for your loss. Your parents will be remembered in prayer by all who knew them in their church communities.

I had the opportunity to meet Leah on the "bus" from the hotel to the airport following an adoption conference in Texas. We immediately developed a connection and I enjoyed seeing her at each conference we attended following.

Leah was one of the evaluators with the Council On Accreditation that reviewed Adoption by Shepherd Care in 2012. After spending a few days with her it was clear to see she loved her family, dedication to her work, and she loved good food. We introduced her to authentic Cuban food and she loved it. She will be missed.

I've known Leah since I was about 4 when I became best friends with her daughter, Kate. Spending time at their home growing up was such a delight. Both Leah and Paul always made me feel so welcome, like I was part of the family. The home was filled with laughter and curious minds. Throughout the years Leah continued to make me feel welcome, inquiring about my life whenever I would visit. My heart goes out to Kate, Russell, Dennis, Martha, and the rest of their family. May good memories of the wonderful mother, sister, and person that she was bring them peace throughout the years to come.

I am heart-broken over the loss of Leah, not only for me, but the hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people with whom she interacted, helped and shared the joys of life. In remembering so many special times, I realize that although I have a full life, Leah was the "icing on the cake" and the "cherry on top of an ice-cream sundae" for me. From introducing me to the calmness of a retreat to Kripalu in the Berkshires, to dancing down down Commercial Street in Provincetown after a noteworthy show, to joining Leah & Martha in Guatemala, to seeing the joy on faces gathered for the annual party for families she helped create through her Red Thread Adoption Agency, and endless more stories, the world was better for Leah having been in it.

Leah was a wonderful woman. I only met her once at Dennis and Jess’s wedding but she made that weekend shine with her smile and presence. I am so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. May her memory be a blessing.

Leah was a dear friend. We served together in Lai Khe Viet Nam. My husband knew her there as well. We attended her wedding to Paul. I am stunned. I am so sad to lose her. We always talked of getting together since we live in Ipswich. She was one of the best Donut Dollies with whom I served. I send love to the children. She loved you more than anything. This is a great loss.

The news of Leah's passing was especially difficult for me personally to hear. She was an incredibly kind and decent person and one of my best friends in high school. We reconnected after a few reunions and went to dinner after that. She was very kind to me during our high school years together and after. My sincere condolences to her family.
