Brian V. Smith, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on January 6, 2026, in Boston, MA, at the age of 68. Born on December 2, 1957, in Norwood, MA, Brian was a man whose life was marked by a profound love for his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a dedication to his community.

Raised in Norwood, Brian was the beloved son of the late Dorothy A. (Guba) Denisi Alred. He graduated as a mechanic from Blue Hills Regional Technical High School in Canton, where he honed the skills that would serve him throughout his career. He later became an ASE Master Certified Technician. Brian's work ethic was evident to all who knew him, as he spent many years as a valued employee at Framingham Chrysler. After his heart issues in 1998, he later became an auto appraiser and worked alongside Warren Taft at Taft Appraisal. Warren Taft and Brian became very close friends as the years passed.

Brian's heart was fullest when surrounded by his loving family and would often fill a room with his many laughs and smiles. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 41 years, Anne Marie "Annie" (Dimond) Smith. He leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Courtney M. Smith of Bellingham and her significant other, Marc Varrecchione and Diana K. Masterson and her husband Paul of Mebane, NC; his brother, Dennis F. Smith; sister, Francine C. Denisi, and her wife Joanne L. Prusik of Abington; an uncle, Bobby Guba of Watertown; his aunt, Linda Guba and her daughter, Robin Cox and family of South Carolina and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Vito J. Denisi. Brian's legacy will live on through his adored grandchildren, Vincent, Catherine, Bellamey and Mackenzie, who will miss their Papa's adventurous tales and warm embraces.

An avid outdoorsman, Brian's interests were as vast as the open sea. He found solace in the tranquility of fresh water and ocean fishing on Cape Cod, the thrill of boating, trap shooting and the camaraderie of hunting trips. Camping and traveling were among his favorite ways to explore, while playing cards provided endless hours of joy with friends and family. He fiercely devoted to his friends. He also loved food and an occasional ice cream treat with the grandchildren. He took great pride and joy in the summer months with his gardening and cooking on his Weber grill. Brian possessed a genuine love for playing Poker and Pitch, enjoying the camaraderie of both casual games and league competitions. It brought him joy and a sense of connection with others.

He was a member and past president and past vice president on the Board of Directors of the Southborough Rod and Gun Club, he fostered a sense of fellowship and conservation. His leadership and enthusiasm for the club's activities were instrumental in its success. He ran the club's junior rifle program for many years and taught his daughters, as well as many others. He did so much for others. Brian put a smile on many faces and will be deeply missed.

Visting hours will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 11:30AM - 1PM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford, followed by a funeral service at 1PM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the National Kidney Foundation.
