Aaron Brenner Obituary
Aaron H. Brenner, 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his home. Aaron was born January 25, 1932 and grew up in Harrisburg where he attended William Penn High School. Aaron went on to study at the University of Alabama and later served in the 3rd Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. In 1954 he joined M. Brenner & Sons in sales and retired in 1993 as the president/ treasurer when the business was sold. He was also a vice president of Brenner Motors.
Aaron served on the advisory boards of Hamilton Bank, Core States and First Union Banks and was a former treasurer of the United Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg. He served on the board of The Jewish Home of Harrisburg and was an active volunteer in the JFS Meals on Wheels program.
Aaron was a Life Member of Beth El Temple and served on its board of directors. He was also a member of Temple Beth Israel in Longboat Key, FL.
Aaron was pre-deceased by his son William M. Brenner and sister Selma B. Gordon.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 26, at 11:00 a.m. in the Beth El Temple Cemetery Chapel with Rabbi Ron Muroff officiating. Interment will follow at the Beth El Temple Cemetery.
Aaron is survived by his devoted wife Janis; daughters Terry Rapagnani & husband Richard of The Woodlands, TX, Marcy Brenner & husband Alan Cahall of Harrisburg, son Roy H. Brenner & wife Jennifer of Harrisburg and daughter-in-law Geraldine Brenner of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Aaron and Janis also shared and enjoyed seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Shiva will be observed at the Brenner home. The Brenner's welcome those who would like to visit with the family on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Henry and Jesse Brenner Camp Ramah Scholarship Endowment Fund at Beth El Temple, The Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, the Jewish Family Service of Harrisburg or a charity of your choice.
