Bradenton, Florida - Louis J. Gornick, 95, of Westminister Manor, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. He leaves behind his soul mate of 76 years, Geraldine Gornick. Together they enjoyed many years of happiness. They had three boys Chuck, Michael, and Jeff, and their daughter Margaret (deceased). They also have six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish their grandfather's memory. Louis proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a hard-working electrician, a longtime member of the IBEW. They attended Holy Cross Church in Palmetto for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Cross Church. A funeral mass for Louis will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Church, 505 26th St W, Palmetto, FL 34221. Gerry and family, You will be in my prayers as you recall the generosity, warmth and mischief that Lou embodied. I have such great memories of his timeless courtesy, his 'jokes' for his lovely wife, and his enduring faith as seen when he served at Mass despite his health challenges. He was certainly special and dearly loved.

My deepest sympathies to Gerry and your extanded families on the passing of Lou. For a number of years the Gornicks and I exchanged greetings at Sunday Masses at Holy Cross Church. When I took up residence at Westminster Point Pleasant, Lou and Gerry told me they had moved into Westminster Manor. I knew that Lou served many years as an Extraordinary Minister. May he rest in peace in God's arms!
