Dear Peter, Amy and Sheldon,
My thoughts go out to you during this time. It was much to soon. Though I have known Gail for many years it has been these last few years that I have gotten to know who Gail is. I am proud to have known such a wonderful, caring and inspirational woman who gave to her family and others so much! Who truly made me a better person. I will always remember Gail for her activism, and her dedication to learning and community. I will miss our mutually gathered cookouts with family and friends, the wonderful books she gave and long talks we had. I will forever miss you Gail, and I am here for you both Peter and Amy in this time of need.
May peace and love carry Gail to our heavens.
Love Shela

Dear Peter: I am so saddened to hear of Gail's death. It's hits home particularly because Shirley was the same age when she died so unexpectedly 10 years ago. My heart goes out to you. One of the things that has been a great comfort to me over these years has been the certainty that Shirley lived her life fully, even though her death was untimely; I feel the same about Gail. She has touched many lives and made the world a better place. I'm reading about Gail's death and writing this note in the Library in Alpine, WY -- we are visiting a new grandbaby, Ellen's son Paul's boy. I will be holding you in my heart!

Peter and Family, I am saddened to hear of Gail's passing. When I think of Gail at BAMS, I remember her commitment and determination to do what was best for each and every one of her students. I appreciated her "gitterdone" attitude which kept us in line when serving on committees together. Her devotion to you, and love of her family came through as she talked about any of you. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time of loss.

Peter-

So sorry for you and all of us that Gail touched. She will be missed by many for her leadership and inspiration. From her education background (I had no idea!) to her activism that I am more familiar with she had a great impact. She is a great soul. So sorry.

Peter, Amy, and Sheldon
We all were shocked to hear about your loss of Gail. It has been quite some time since we have been in touch. The memories of your family and ours sharing Sebastian in Marlboro, brought us closer than just being neighbors.I remember Gail going door to door with a petition for the "Peace Movement" in the 70's.
I admired her then, for her strength and inspiration.I am sure she used them every day during her personal battle.
We offer our condolences, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you .
