I went to high school with Mimi and although I never saw her again after 1964 when she graduated a year ahead of me, I always remembered how rowdy and full of life she was, and how much more sophisticated than the rest of us she seemed to be. She and her friend Gilbert Ruff were the first students at our high school to protest the war by remaining seated during the national anthem at a high school football game, which I thought was the most courageous thing I'd ever seen. That would have been at least 55 years ago, and I still admire it.

Sad to hear that Mimi is gone. We want to express our sympathies, especially to John because she was quite literally his better half. Go in peace, Mimi, with lots of good memories of when we were growing up in Riverton. Best to you, too, John. Miss you, my friend.

Guilford will be a less interesting place to live with the passing of Mimi. She did so much for so many and seemed to enjoy herself in the doing. My condolences to all her family and friends ... she will live long in our memories.

I send condolences to Mimi's whole family, and in particular to Kathryn. I remember Mimi's extraordinary hospitality when I accompanied some of Kathryn's classmates in French class to Montreal: we took sleeping-bags and slept on Mimi's floor, and she made a lovely breakfast for us. Then we met again when Mimi became a fellow-Guardian Ad Litem. She focused her sharp mind, warm heart, and enormous energy on helping children caught up in situations not of their making. It was a privilege to work alongside her, and her family's sad loss is also a loss to her community.

I took classes at the Brattleboro School of Dance with Mimi (Zumba, Pilates, yoga) and I always wanted to stand near her. She was so much fun! I am so saddened by this loss and will remember her with great fondness.

I am sorry to hear of Mimi's passing. I remember her warmly from childhood trips to Maine with Rick and Leah. Best wishes, Sara Wilson
