Bruce, you are greatly missed and whenever I think to tell you something, I find myself sharing in silence and can still see your smiling eyes and hear your mischievous laugh. It warms me to write this as I have been thinking of you more often than not and remembering all of our fun times at work with the students and all of the cool conversations we would get into. The lunch breaks and all the neat gadgets you would buy and share. Thank you for your presence in my life. Reflecting on some of those moments we shared always reveals a gift, a clue that leads me closer to knowing my own truth. All that just by simply being you! Love and blessings to your family and may all be filled with the light from your eternal flame. In loving gratitude, Elizabeth

I hired Bruce to join the English Department at CHS because he was a 'blue leaf in a green forest,' a reference he surely would have loved and definitely lived up to. He was always open to reflective feedback and committed to his craft. He loved to teach, and his legacy will continue with all those whose hearts and minds he touched. Very sad to learn he is gone. My sincere condolences to the Alesse family and to all of Bruce's close friends.

I will miss Bruce for the rest of my life. I have many great memories playing with my Alesse cousins when we were children growing up. Bruce seemed to be he most friendly fun energetic and interesting. I met him again much later later when he was teaching high school, he was interested in ebooks and making them available to students on inexpensive pre-owned palm pilot pdas he would give out (years before there were things like Kindles). I admired his enthusiasm for what he was doing and his desire to find new ways of doing it better.

The world (and my world) is definitely a better place because of him..

Good bye Bruce you will never be forgotten.

November 30, 2015

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sincerely,

Mary, Michael, and Betty
