RAIMOND SENIOR Obituary

RAIMOND DEL NOCE SENIOR - SHELBURNE - Raimond del Noce Senior died peacefully in his sleep from cancer on Aug. 3, 2012, at the age of 91, at his home and surrounded by his family. Born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, N.Y., the son of Eugene and Natalie Senior, he also lived in India, Belgium, Holland, Montreal, Philadelphia and Shelburne. Dad immediately enlisted in the Marines after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served in the South Pacific and ended his distinguished service as a captain. He then graduated from the University of Pennsylvania followed by a post-graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. A very successful career as an advertising executive and later the president of J. Walter Thompson (Canada) advertising firm provided a vehicle for his creative energies. In 1969, he left the corporate world to fully indulge his creative drive and started a fibre weaving business with his first wife, Jinx. This lead to his lifelong passion for creating art in various mediums including fiber, watercolor, acrylics and multi-media projects. Today we celebrate the life of our very beloved father, grandfather, husband and friend. He taught us how to squeeze every last drop out of life but also so enriched our lives by sharing his charm, his wit and his love. Creativity was his motivation, art, his instrument. Dad always found the very best when presented with the mundane, and revealed the good in everyone he met. Regardless of how many books he read or how many people he talked to, he could never satiate his appetite to learn and discover. His curiosity of life never ebbed. Little gave him more pleasure than having a good cigar while holding court with friends or family or simply contemplating his next brush stroke. In his later years, his real passion and devotion, was his dearest wife, Kim. Kim was the source of his strength, his passion and his lust for life. She gave purpose to his energy and a focus for his love. He leaves his wife Kim Senior; his children, Derrick, Pogo and Sherry; his first wife, Jinx; his six grandchildren, Maxime, Shaun, Ryan, Natalie, Dylan and Justin; his daughters-in-law, Deidre and Sylvie; his son-in-law, Dan Bokan; and of course his many close friends. While his passing greatly saddens us, we will forever covet his unrelenting energy, his kind-hearted spirit and his unwavering determination to follow his dreams. A private reception will be scheduled. Arrangements are in care of Stephen C. Gregory & Son, Cremation Services, South Burlington. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to: Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, VT 05446, https://www.vnacares.org/donate/remembering-honoring-loved-ones.
