LUC POULIN

LUC POULIN - ESSEX - Luc Poulin, 70, of Essex, passed away in the Vermont Respite House in Williston on Dec. 6, 2014, with his wife, son and other family by his side. He was born July 26, 1944, in St. Philebert, Quebec, Canada, son of Emile and Clarida Poulin. He came to Vermont in 1967 and worked in construction until he retired in 2013. He married Suzanne Boulet in St. Prosper, Quebec, on Aug. 16, 1969. They were married 45 years. Luc and Suzanne had two children, Sheila (Dean) Waldrop of Raleigh, N.C., and Dave Poulin of Essex, Vt. In addition to his wife and children, Luc also leaves four grandchildren, Alex and Raelyn Poulin, and Amanda and Avery Waldrop of Raleigh, N.C.; siblings, Helen Poulin, Lise Fournier, Henri Poulin, Jean Guy Poulin, Rachel Poulin, Yvon Poulin, Rolande Poulin, and France Poulin; many nieces and nephews; seven sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law. He was predeceased by his sisters, Paulette and Therese; and brothers, Andre and Gerard. Luc will be remembered for his easy-going personality, strong work ethic, and sense of humor. He was a Jack-of-all-trades, with an inventive mind. With only a brief description, he was able to conceptualize and build whatever you needed within a few hours. Everyone who knew him fondly remember his talking and humming to himself as he worked, chuckling as he went along. Luc loved to golf, hunt, fish and garden. He belonged to Williston, Rocky Ridge, and Essex Country Clubs. His garden was his pride and joy. He would spend hours ice fishing with anyone who was willing to go with him. Suzanne lovingly cared for him during his illness. The family wishes to give special thanks to Yvon and Helene Poulin. Visiting hours for Luc will be held on Dec. 20, 2014, from 1 to 4 p.m., with a memorial service at 3 p.m. at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vermont Respite House, 90 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495; or the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446.
