Gerald Cadieux Obituary

Gerald Raoul Joseph Cadieux

Williston - Gerald Raoul Joseph Cadieux, 88, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2020, at the McClure Miller Respite House. Gerald was born in Burlington, VT on November 16, 1931 to Gustave and Alvine Marie (Gagne) Cadieux.

Gerald ("Jerry") attended Nazareth School and then Burlington High School, from

which he graduated in in 1950. Jerry married the love of his life, Nola Marie Cavoretto, on June 23, 1950 at St. Joseph church, the week after he graduated from high school. Jerry and Nola were married for 67 years and made many happy memories together. He joined the Navy Seabees and after a tour of duty overseas, he returned to Burlington. He proudly served our country for 44 years.

Jerry was a plasterer by trade. Specializing in plaster, stucco, brick, tile and slate. He was a good man who loved spending time with his family. He and Nola enjoyed eating and shopping in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York. He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf, bowling, downhill skiing at Bolton Valley, and traveling the world.

Left to cherish Gerald's memory are his children Jody (Rick) Barry, Michelle (Doug) Lavalette, Gregory, and Danelle Cadieux (Alan) Barup. Also surviving are his granddaughter Alisha Marie (Johnny) and her son D'Andre and stepson Javon, his grandson Robert Joseph Kittell and Gerald's sister, Pauline McCaffrey.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Nola, and his two brothers Bob and Babe.

We would like to thank all of the wonderful family and friends who helped care for, make new memories, and love him. We would also like to thank UVM Medical Center and the McClure Miller Respite House for the care and compassion they showed him.

Burial will be private. A celebration of Gerald's life will be held at a later date; details will be announced in the Burlington Free Press and on
