Kathryn Conway Obituary

Kathryn May Conway, 88, of Slippery Rock, passed away at 1:02 a.m. Thursday at St. Barnabas in Gibsonia.
She was born May 26, 1927, in Butler, to Lewis Cress and Mary Earla Hartzell Cress.
She married John William Conway on Sept. 16, 1950. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2013.
Kate was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She retired from the Slippery Rock School District where she was a school nurse. She was an active member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, Grove City Chapter of Eastern Star 86, and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. Kate was an accomplished violinist, who played with the SRU Symphony, Butler County Symphony, ACTS and at Center Presbyterian Church of Slippery Rock.
She and her husband were always together. They enjoyed working in their yard and garden, traveling and spending time with their family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Martha and her husband, Wood D. Wiles of Cumming, Ga., and Kathryn Jane and her husband, David E. Malick of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
CONWAY - Friends of Kathryn May Conway, who died Thursday, July 23, 2015, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Walt Hehman presiding.
Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, 130 Franklin St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
